EVERYTHING IT CAN DO
The full list of things you can say.
Every voice command Chappie understands today, in one place.
Chat with you
- "Summarize today's news"
- "How do I say 'good job' in Japanese?"
- "Can I talk something through with you?"
Casual chat to thoughtful conversations. Chappie remembers the recent flow, so "about that thing we just talked about" works.
Set timers
- "Set a 3-minute timer"
- "Set a 5-minute timer for tea"
- "Cancel all timers"
Just say the duration. Chappie tells you when time is up. Multiple timers at once, remaining time check, cancel — all by voice.
Schedule reminders
- "Wake me up at 7 tomorrow"
- "Remind me about my meds at 8 PM"
- "Saturday 10 AM, the meeting"
Absolute-time reminders like "7 AM tomorrow" or "8 PM". Reminders survive an app restart, so morning wake-ups still fire.
Tell time & dates
- "What time is it?"
- "What day is today?"
- "How many hours until 6 PM?"
Reads your Mac's clock. Math like "how many hours until 6 PM?" works too.
Tell the weather
- "What's the weather like?"
- "Will I need an umbrella tomorrow?"
- "How's the weather in Tokyo?"
Skip the location and Chappie defaults to your area; name a city and you get that one instead. Current temp, plus today and tomorrow's highs, lows, and chance of rain.
Read the latest news
- "What's the latest news?"
- "Any world news?"
- "Read me Nintendo news."
Top headlines, tech, and world feeds plus on-the-fly topic search — just say what you want to hear about. If nothing comes back, Chappie opens the search in your browser. Voice-only morning briefing.
Look it up on Wikipedia
- "What's Apple Vision Pro?"
- "Tell me about Marie Curie."
- "How tall is the Tokyo Tower?"
Throw any word, name, or place at Chappie and you get a Wikipedia-sourced summary read back to you. Particularly strong for recent people and events the model alone might be unsure about.
Tell you about earthquakes
- "Any recent quakes?"
- "Did I just feel one? what magnitude?"
- "Has there been a big one lately?"
Pulls the latest quake list from JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) and reads epicenter, magnitude, max intensity, and time aloud. Quick reassurance when you feel a tremor.
Tell you about typhoons
- "How's the typhoon?"
- "Is a typhoon coming?"
- "Where's the typhoon heading?"
Reads out the active typhoons from JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) — number, name, center position, course, speed, central pressure, max wind, and where it's headed. If none are active, you hear that in one line.
Answer exchange rates
- "USD to JPY?"
- "What's 100 euros in dollars?"
- "How's the pound doing?"
Ask for any currency pair and Chappie answers instantly. Add an amount and it converts on the fly — handy before a trip or a purchase.
Sunrise, sunset, moon
- "What time is sunset today?"
- "When does the sun rise tomorrow?"
- "Is it a full moon tonight?"
Sunrise, sunset, solar noon, and day length for your location, plus tonight's moon phase by name (new / crescent / first quarter / full / etc.).
Summarize a page
- "Read the URL on my clipboard."
- "Summarize this link."
- "What does that ___ page say?"
Hand Chappie a URL and it pulls just the article body and condenses it into 2–4 spoken sentences. No need to scroll through a long post — get the gist with your ears. Pairs well with the clipboard tool.
Read your schedule
- "What's on my calendar today?"
- "Tomorrow's schedule?"
- "What's next?"
Reads from your Mac's Calendar (read-only). Today, tomorrow, or the next 7 days — Chappie picks up titles, times, and locations and reads them out loud.
Open websites & search
- "Open YouTube"
- "Open the Apple website"
- "Google how to make ramen"
Launches your default browser to open a URL or run a web search. Great for kicking off research when your hands are full.
Launch apps & open folders
- "Open Slack"
- "Open my Downloads folder"
- "Open the Applications folder"
Launches any installed Mac app by name. Also opens Finder at common folders (Downloads, Desktop, Documents, Applications, Trash, etc.) by voice — the menu bar becomes your voice launcher.
Control system volume
- "Set the volume to 30"
- "Turn it down a bit"
- "Mute"
Adjusts macOS output volume by voice. Absolute levels and relative "a bit louder / quieter" both work — perfect when your hands are full.
Control your music
- "Next track"
- "Pause for a sec"
- "What song is this?"
Voice control for whichever of Spotify or Apple Music is already running. Play / pause / skip, plus "what song is this?" gets you the title and artist.
Float YouTube in a mini-player
- "Play some cat videos on YouTube"
- "Put on some lofi to focus"
- "Close YouTube"
Ask for a video or some background music and Chappie opens it in an always-on-top mini-player. Hands stay free, the player floats above whatever app you're working in.
Read & write the clipboard
- "Read what's on my clipboard"
- "What did I just copy?"
- "Write a short thank-you email and copy it"
Reads aloud what's on your clipboard, or drops the text Chappie just produced into it so you can paste straight into the next app.
Take a screenshot
- "Take a screenshot"
- "Capture the whole screen"
- "Save a screenshot to my desktop"
Selection or full screen, all by voice. The image goes straight to your clipboard so you can paste into the next app — or save it as a PNG on the Desktop.
Take voice notes
- "Note this down: parking spot B3"
- "Read my recent notes"
- "Find the Wi-Fi note"
Capture quick thoughts by voice. Ask later — "find the X note" — and Chappie pulls just the matching ones. They stick around even after you quit the app.
Remembers you across sessions
- "My name is piro"
- "What do you know about me?"
- "Forget that"
Name, family, role, preferences — Chappie quietly picks them up from everyday conversation and carries them forward to the next session. No need to reintroduce yourself. Say "forget that" anytime to drop a memory.
Check the battery
- "What's my battery at?"
- "How much charge is left?"
- "Am I plugged in?"
Percent, charging state, and time remaining in one answer — handy for "can I make it through this meeting?" calls without flipping to the menu bar.
Lock, sleep & stay-awake
- "Lock the screen"
- "Put the Mac to sleep"
- "Stay awake for 30 minutes"
Lock, display-off, or sleep with one word. Or flip it — "stay awake" prevents sleep during long-running tasks (timed or open-ended).
MLB scores on the spot
- "Any Ohtani game today?"
- "How did the Dodgers do?"
- "When are the Cubs playing?"
Pulls today's and yesterday's MLB scores and start times straight from the official feed. Knows which team each Japanese star plays for, so casual references like "Ohtani" or "Darvish" just work.
Stocks and indices on the spot
- "What's Apple at?"
- "How's the S&P doing?"
- "Bitcoin price?"
Latest quotes for US and Japanese equities, the major indices, and crypto pairs via Stooq. No app to open, no account to log into. US equities are ~15 minutes delayed and the values are for reference, not trading.
Unit conversion on the spot
- "70°F in Celsius?"
- "5 miles in km?"
- "100 pounds in kg?"
Voice-only conversion across temperature, length, weight, volume, speed, and area. Handy when you're following a recipe written in the other measurement system, or just need a number fast.
Change your wallpaper with your voice
- "Change my wallpaper to a forest"
- "Set a night sky wallpaper"
- "Make it aesthetic"
Say a theme and your desktop picture swaps to a matching photo on the spot. Multi-monitor setups get a different photo per screen. Great for a quick vibe reset or a tidy desk before a call.
Picture of the day as wallpaper
- "Set today's picture of the day as wallpaper"
- "Use today's Wikipedia photo"
- "Make today's featured photo my wallpaper"

A masterpiece as wallpaper
- "Set a famous painting as my wallpaper"
- "Make a Van Gogh my wallpaper"
- "Use a Japanese woodblock print"
A public-domain masterpiece from the Art Institute of Chicago becomes your desktop wallpaper. Name an artist or style, or leave it up to chance for a fresh piece — with a word on what it is.
Air quality and dust on the spot
- "How's the air today?"
- "Is there any dust?"

- "Anything interesting nearby?"
- "What's around here?"
- "Any landmarks close by?"
Landmarks and places near you, with distance — by voice. Great in an unfamiliar town or on a walk when you wonder what's around.
What's that plane overhead?
- "What plane is flying over me?"
- "Any planes overhead?"
